Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Future of Health, doing business as The Future of Health with Rebecca NP ("we", "us"), collects when you use futureofhealthnp.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

1. Health information, and what this policy does not cover

There is an important distinction to understand. If you become a client, the clinical records created in the course of your care are protected health information and are handled under the privacy and security obligations that apply to that care, separately from this policy.

Information you submit through this website before that relationship exists is different. It is website data, not a clinical record, and it does not carry the same protections. That is why we ask you to keep clinical detail out of it and to raise anything medical in a scheduled visit instead.

2. Information you give us

• Contact details you enter into a form or send by email: your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the content of your message.
• Booking information when you schedule a call, which is handled by Calendly and includes your name, email, time zone, and anything you enter in the booking questions.
• Purchase information when you buy the Comprehensive Health Assessment, which is handled by Stripe.
• Intake and clinical information once you become a client. That is collected through the systems used to deliver care, not through this website, and is governed by the terms and notices provided to you at that point.

3. Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number, expiry date, and security code go directly to Stripe and are never seen by, transmitted to, or stored by us. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the name, email address, and billing details you gave Stripe. Stripe's handling of your data is covered by Stripe's own privacy policy.

4. Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, this one records some information automatically when you visit:

• IP address and approximate location derived from it
• Browser and device type
• Pages viewed, time on page, and the link or search that brought you here
• Cookies and similar technologies set by our website platform and by any analytics or advertising tools in use

Squarespace, which hosts this website, collects some of this by default in order to run and secure the site. We may also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and we may use advertising tools such as the Meta pixel to measure and target advertising.

What that means for you

Where advertising or analytics tools are in use, information about the pages you view on this site may be shared with those companies and combined with information they already hold about you. Because this is a health-related website, we take that seriously: we do not configure these tools to send information about specific health topics, symptoms, or purchases, and we do not use them on any page where you would be submitting personal health detail.

You can limit this by using your browser's tracking protection or private browsing, by using an ad blocker, or by adjusting your advertising settings with Google and Meta directly.

5. How we use information

• To respond to your questions and messages
• To schedule, confirm, and deliver the services you have booked or purchased
• To process payments and keep the records a business is required to keep
• To send you the emails you have asked for, including newsletters or updates if you have signed up
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
• To advertise our services, where advertising tools are in use
• To comply with law and to protect the security of the site

6. Marketing email

If you sign up for a newsletter or updates, we will email you. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages such as appointment confirmations, lab instructions, or payment receipts, because those are part of delivering a service you have asked for.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

We do share it with the service providers who make the business run, and only to the extent they need it to do their job:

• Squarespace, which hosts the website and handles form submissions
• Stripe, which processes payments
• Calendly, which handles scheduling
• Email and analytics providers, for sending mail and understanding site use
• Advertising platforms, where advertising tools are in use, as described in section 4
• Laboratories and clinical service providers, once you are a client and only as needed to deliver your care
• Professional advisers and authorities, where we are required by law to disclose information or need advice to protect our legal rights

8. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This site uses them to keep the site working, to remember preferences, and, where those tools are in use, for analytics and advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of the site from working properly.

9. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and then for as long as the law requires us to keep it. In practice that means enquiries and general website data are kept for a limited period, payment records are kept for the period tax and accounting law requires, and clinical records are kept for the period required for records of that kind in the states where care was provided.

10. Your choices and your rights

Wherever you live, you can email us at info@futureofhealthnp.com and ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete information we no longer need to keep
• stop sending you marketing email

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, including the right to know what is collected and shared, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be treated differently for exercising any of them. We will honour these requests regardless of whether a particular law applies to us, and we will not discriminate against you for making one.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and there are some records, particularly clinical and financial ones, that we are legally required to retain even if you ask us to delete them. If that applies, we will tell you.

11. Security

We use reputable providers, keep access limited to those who need it, and use encrypted connections for the website and for payment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. This is the reason for the request in section 1: please keep clinical detail out of website forms and ordinary email.

12. Children

This website and these services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Links to other sites

This site links to other places, including Amazon, Stripe, and Calendly. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's website, governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business changes or as the law does. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change is significant we will make that clear on the site rather than relying on you to notice.
